We're both 11 years old and about to go into the sixth grade. I'm so excited! I can't wait to make new friends and learn new things. School's almost out for this year, and though I love summer vacation, I'm already thinking about the end of summer so I can finally be a middle schooler!
Zoe and I have a bunk bed in our room. Zoe and I played rock-paper-scissors for the rights to the top bunk, and I lost. She wouldn't go for a best 2-out-of-3 game, so I'm stuck on the bottom bunk. It's not SO bad though, because as a compromise, we decided that I should get to sleep with Shiloh, our dog. We called him that because we got him in Gettysburg, and both the Battle of Shiloh and the Battle of Gettysburg were big fights in the Civil War.
Oh, and happy 1-day-late Memorial Day! My sister and I went to see the parade in town. I especially liked seeing the marching band. Those big sousaphones look like so much fun to play! Zoe liked it when the Girl Scouts went past, and thought the horses looked beautiful. What did you do for the holiday?
I'm looking forward to writing more as the year goes on! Zoe'll be writing next though; she says that it's not fair if I write ALL the posts!
